Things to Know About Me

I Hold a Masters Degree in Social Work Administration and Community Practice from the (UIC) University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Southern University in Carbondale, Illinois.


I have worked in the field of Behavioral Health, Child Welfare Counseling and Case Management for over 10 years. My specialties are in treating behavioral and mood disorders such as depression, various anxiety disorders, childhood and adult trauma. In addition, couples and family crisis, stress, grief and loss counseling.

There are some challenges and situations in life that become overwhelming or too difficult to face alone. However, deciding to seek a professional therapist to assist you with those unexpected difficulties may feel daunting, intimidating or even a little frightening. You may say you feel that way only because you are uncertain of what to expect.

As a therapist, I strive to empower clients with creative tools and supportive resources to address and reduce feelings of distress and or obstacles in their lives. I specialize in getting to know and understand your needs by working collaboratively with you. Building a solid relationship with the clients I serve are the ingredients that empowers and propels them through the therapeutic process towards successful and increased goal achievement.


Therapy is a means to learn new and effective communication techniques to improve your relationships and to gain conflict resolutions and problem-solving skills.  Therapy is also beneficial in assisting to identify non-productive behavior patterns and help to develop new ones.  You may also find that therapy can be a tremendous support while experiencing a  family or an individual crisis.
